Home to the iconic Loktak Lake, Keibul Lamjao National Park is the only active floating national park in the world that is the centre of attractions for Manipur. Situated at a distance of 47 km from the capital city of Imphal, the national park is home to numerous rare and endangered species of birds and animals. Indian civet, wild boar, barking deer and dancing deer along with a wide range of migratory birds are some of the animal and bird species that can be sighted here.
Bird Watching : The park is a haven for birdwatchers with over 200 species of birds calling it home. Look out for migratory birds, waterfowl, and elusive birds like the Hoopoe, the Black Eagle, and the Shaheen Falcon.
Explore the Phumdis : Phumdis are floating masses of decomposing plant material that act as home to local people living there along with various species of animals.
